Dropping today! The next edition in our “Quincy Is Everything” neighborhood series! This 5.5% ABV Session NEIPA is dry-hopped with an experimental hop that delivers beautiful flavors and notes of lychee and guava with a little hit of citrus. Medium-bodied with a slight sweetness on the finish, it is a beauty of a summer crusher! We launched this series in March in partnership with Quincy Is Everything (aka QIE) – a Facebook group with over 27,000 members that serves as the online town square for the residents of Quincy, with the goal of celebrating Quincy and raising funds for local charities. Over the years, it has also been a group that has done great work supporting charitable endeavors. The goal of the QIE series is to highlight different neighborhoods within Quincy by developing a beer style and custom can art that is reflective of that neighborhood. As part of this project, we also kick back a portion of the proceeds to hyper-local charities. This edition features can art highlighting the seaside and windswept neighborhood known as Squantum – a stunning area rich with history that boasts some sweeping views of Boston. You may recognize some landscape features picking up the red coloration from the golden hour sunset that is tough to beat. In the background, the low tide is exposing a land bridge that connects Squantum to Thompson Island. Proceed with caution! Locals know to time this walk correctly or you might get marooned on Thompson Island! Our charity partner for this beer is the Squantum-based Jonathan W. P. O’Driscoll Memorial Fund. Jonathan – a NQHS graduate, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, a Quincy Firefighter, and a proud father – suddenly passed in 2019. The memorial fund was established to not only honor his memory but to give back to his community. It benefits North Quincy High School graduates pursuing service in the United States military as well as graduates continuing their education who have experienced the loss of a parent or guardian.
