“Passing the Mash Paddle” with Quincy Ships Brewing Join us tonight, 7/21 at 6 PM as we release the Abigail Adams Amber “3A” brewed in collaboration with Tod Mott of Quincy Ships Brewing. Tod Mott, Founder of Tributary Brewing in Kittery, Maine was a Founder and Head Brewer for Quincy Ships Brewing. Quincy ships opened in 1999 but closed 15 months later when their building was sold by the landlord. Quincy residents and the South Shore, in general, are nostalgic for Quincy Ships. While opening, Break Rock Brewing was careful to note that we would be Quincy’s “only” craft brewery – not its first – an honor that belongs to Tod and the team of Quincy Ships! Break Rock’s Head Brewer/Co-Owner Vilija Bizinkauskas reached out to Tod and proposed a collaboration brew to signify Quincy Ships formally passing the torch to Break Rock as Quincy’s brewery. Hence the title, “Pass the mash paddle” – a more brewing appropriate play on pass the torch. Vilija and Tod revived Quincy Ship’s 2001 GABF award-winning recipe for “Abigail Adams Amber”. This beer was brewed at Break Rock and will be released in the taproom today on draft and a limited amount of to-go cans. Tod will be in attendance to meet and greet with guests. See you tonight! #abigailadams #quincyships #quincyma #quincyshipyard #craftbeer #breakrockbrewing #quincybuilt
