Rounding out our team introductions: Jay Southwood, Founder & President. Jay grew up in Marshfield but now resides in Weymouth with his family. He has been in the craft beer industry for over a decade – holding positions in both sales and in production, ranging from Packaging to Head Brewer. He jokes that “his story is not unique to the brewing industry” – having started as a homebrewer who fell in love with making beer and ultimately changed careers to do it for a living! Opening Break Rock Brewing is a dream he has held since his homebrewing days. In 2018, he formed the business and approached his long time friend Vilija to help make the dream a reality! Fun fact about Jay: Favorite trip taken was to New Zealand. While there, he stayed at a hilltop residence with sweeping views of hop yards and vineyards. It was harvest season. The smell of fresh hops in the air was unforgettable!
